Our Mikvah
A Sanctuary of Luxury, Privacy, and Halachic Excellence
The Mill Basin Mikvah (MBM) is a newly constructed mikvah, meticulously designed with exceptional elegance, attractiveness, modern features and equipment. Our mikvah stands as a true sanctuary where Luxury and Divinity Harmoniously Meet, beautifully mirroring the exquisite quality embodied within the building itself.
It was brought to fruition with special attention to detail, adhering to literally every single halachic opinion (shita) regarding mikvaot, a testament to its profound kashrus, proudly attested to by multiple expert Rabbis specializing in mikvah construction.
The mikvah is situated in a prime area, offering ample parking on a quiet street that is both safe and easily accessible. The building itself is thoughtfully designed to evoke a sense of comfort and security, while maintaining an aura of privacy and seclusion, all enveloped by beautiful and warm landscaping.
It features two Mikvah immersion rooms (Chadar Hatvilot) and seven private preparation rooms, a grand and inviting lobby, and a spacious basement meticulously designed for all operational work, including laundry and storage. A generous mezzanine is dedicated to ongoing classes and enlightening lectures on Taharah (Family Purity), fostering continuous learning and spiritual growth.
The premium supplies and equipment we utilize are exclusively sourced from reputable, brand-name companies, carefully selected for their high ratings and uncompromising quality. All supplies provided are brand new and disposable for one-time use. The entire facility and its accessories undergoes constant cleaning and sanitizing to ensure the healthiest and most pristine service possible.
Our intuitive website and reservation platform, coupled with our integrated software system, are specifically designed to minimize waiting times, and offer a private, seamless self-service experience, making you feel like you’re the only one using this facility. We also accommodate optional requests to ensure your utmost comfort and personal needs.
Our Staff & Supervision
The mikvah operates under the esteemed supervision of Rabbi Zvi Elimelech Rokeach (Rav D'khal Bais Mordechai D'bertch) and his wife, Rebbetzin Sari Rokeach, who gracefully serves as the Mikvah Director. They are highly renowned for their extensive experience in this sacred field, particularly after many years dedicated to teaching chasanim (grooms) and kallahs (brides). The Rav and Rebbetzin have embraced this project as an integral part of their personal life, providing constant thought and dedicated supervision to ensure the highest standards are consistently met.
Our staff is exceptionally well-trained and diverse, and undergoes continuous training and enriching classes. Here, the entire staff-attendants and receptionists-convene regularly to review all protocols, guidelines, best practices, and halachos related to their sacred work in the mikvah. At the same time, they share their invaluable experiences with one another, fostering a harmonious and united family atmosphere, all committed to ensuring top-quality service for the preparation to this holy mitzvah.
The staff itself comprises many dedicated women, each united by the profound mission of making this mikvah truly extraordinary. We placed particular emphasis during the organizational and hiring process on selecting women who possess both deep respect and profound sensitivity in assisting those who come to perform this vital, foundational mitzvah.
Baruch Hashem, our staff has already earned a reputation as a symbol of unwavering dedication, in both heart and soul. Our renowned reputation for exceptional care and professionalism has made us the go-to resource for guidance—even beyond our own community—especially in sensitive situations.
Our Services
Exceptional service is our paramount priority. Mill Basin Mikvah warmly erves a diverse and vibrant neighborhood, accommodating Sephardic and Ashkenazic practices alongside a wide range of cultural backgrounds, ensuring that everyone who walks through our doors feels completely at home. While the mikvah is operated with the sacred goal of accommodating every halachic opinion and ensuring the tevilah (immersion) is as kosher as possible, our staff remains exceptionally sensitive. They extend every woman the utmost respect for her Rav (Rabbi) and the cherished minhagim (customs) she grew up with.
The mikvah is open daily, including Shabbat and Yomim Tovim. For Shabbat, Yomim Tovim, Chanukah, Purim, and Chol HaMoed, reservations are kindly required upfront. On a daily basis, walk-ins are always accepted, but for enhanced comfort and privacy, we highly recommend utilizing our online reservation system. Kallahs (brides) and those needing special appointments are required to call the mikvah number at 929-220-3401 to schedule their appointment.
Even though the mikvah has official mikvah hours, our entire dedicated staff is always on call for any type of emergency, and we have already provided compassionate assistance at various times and for diverse situations. It is our genuine pleasure to serve your needs, and we are committed to fulfilling them to the fullest extent possible.
Special Attention to Brides
Our mikvah has been profoundly privileged to become one of the most popular and cherished places for a kallah to begin her life with the right spiritual steps. This is not only due to the breathtaking beauty and advanced amenities of our mikvah, but also because we passionately specialize in kallah training, with multiple eager attendees participating in our comprehensive preparation programs. Our specially curated kallah room, bespoke packages, and thoughtful gifts are all lovingly designed to give kallahs a positive and uplifting experience, empowering them to maintain a strong life of Taharat Hamishpacha (Family Purity) with profound joy and enthusiasm.
Our Establishment and Administration
The Mill Basin neighborhood proudly stands as one of the most beautiful and thriving areas in Brooklyn, where close to three thousand Jewish families have found a wonderful and welcoming place to live. Mill Basin boasts over 10 Orthodox shuls (synagogues) led by highly beloved Rabbis. The streets are enlivened by a vibrant and diverse community of many different Jewish backgrounds, adding a unique and heartwarming touch to the area.
For many years, literally hundreds of families in the Mill Basin neighborhood eagerly anticipated the establishment of a Tahara mikvah, as there had been none for so long.
The grand goal and cherished dream were to bring and develop the Mill Basin Mikvah not merely as a conventional mikvah, but as "the go-to mikvah" – a sacred space that would lovingly inspire and encourage countless women to observe Taharat Hamishpacha.
Developing this masterpiece for our community involved significant and tireless effort, encompassing everything from substantial financial costs to the extreme professionalism required in this specialized field. Highly renowned mikvah expert Rabbis were delighted to collaborate with us and lend this project their special attention, recognizing that the MBM is truly something extraordinary. United efforts and generous support were provided by esteemed community rabbis. Each, leveraging their unique connections and contacts, diligently worked to help this project fulfill its grand vision.
Boruch Shehecheyanu Vekiyemanu Lazman Hazeh: It was on Chanukah 2024 that we were profoundly privileged to open the doors of this magnificent, spa-like, and holy mikvah. News of its completion spread rapidly, and with its opening, an imperative and momentous mission—long awaited in the neighborhood—was beautifully resolved. The community's reception was overwhelmingly positive, and it very quickly became a beloved resource. Now, Baruch Hashem, it is being utilized with high traffic and consistently wonderful feedback.
